Nov 22nd, 2025

My fellow 479 kin,
We are heading into a runoff election for the following positions:
Business Representative
Delegate to the Atlanta, North GA Labor Council
The ballots will go out today Nov 22nd. Voting ends Dec 12th at 4:59pm. Results will tallied Sat Dec 13th, and new officers sworn in for the Dec 14th Gen. Membership Meeting. I’m proud to stand along side Brian Marino on this ballot. He has worked tirelessly to create programs such as the 479 Entertainment Community Fund Relief Program as well as other community based relief drives and programs.
We are the closest we’ve ever been to getting real change for our members and bringing accountability back to the office of Business Representative. Over the past few years we’ve seen a slow decline in decorum, a promise to “right the ship,” and a general claim that only Mike Akins can make this local function. I’m here to tell you we can do better. We can bring accountability back to this office. We can bring a renewed sense of duty and responsiveness to the role of Business Rep, and elect someone who really wants to do the work to make our union successful and competitive in the changing landscape of Film and Television production.
I’ve spent the last several years on sets with you, both on and off production. I know the issues we face first-hand. Let’s bring this election home and elect someone who can lead us into the next chapter of film work in Georgia. I intend to encourage more of our retired members to teach more a diverse course-load of skilled classes at the hall. I want Local 479 jurisdiction to be respected as a leading place to film not just because it’s cheaper, but because our crews are well trained in their duties and confident.
Let’s get back to work!
Jaime “Rosie” Rosegren
